PAULL-01

PAULL (Propulsion for uAlberta Undergraduate Liquid Launches)

The PAULL-01 liquid rocket is a project designed and conducted by the Student Team for Alberta Rocketry Research at the University of Alberta. Our team is developing a 5 kN liquid rocket engine that uses ethanol and nitrous oxide propellants. The design incorporates modern features such as regenerative and film cooling for reusability, along with a like-unlike injector to ensure efficient and stable combustion.

To ensure safety and reliability, PAULL-01 is undergoing a structured test campaign including cold flow testing with inert fluids, and hydrostatic proof tests before final hot fire operations. These steps validate our system performance while training our students in industry-relevant practices. Through PAULL-01, our sponsors directly enable hands-on innovation in advanced rocketry and help establish Canada’s next generation of aerospace engineers.
